WOYWW....

Hello all.  I think a lot of us made the best of Julia's early posting last week and it certainly made a difference to the callers that called in here.  There were lots of new faces calling by so I'd like to say thank you so much to you all for your lovely comments.

So?  What is on my desk this week?
If you had read my post yesterday you will know what my Tuesday was filled with so today I am sharing my table full of my paper crafting with you...


I've printed off background pics to use for my little book like the one Annette sent me.....I say 'like' cos mine really is nothing like the gorgeous one she sent me that you can see here on her blog but mine has taken the design of her book and ran with a head full of ideas I'd got to make little books for my grandies to play with.



I've used jungle background papers to make the book with and attached double sided laminated animals that I've attached to ribbon so the little ones can move them from one section to another in the book and make up stories as they play....and at the end of the day the little animals can be tucked in the little pockets so the book can be closed up and tied.




I thought these could be taken away on holidays with them to play with.  They can be opened up and tied into place while playing, the animals wont get lost and they can use their imaginations to make up stories.

Clever eh?  :-)


Here are my next ideas in the making.....Fairyland, a zoo, a house, a farm, and bugs and insects.  My mind has been doing overtime as you can see so thank you Annette for sewing the seeds and sharing your instructions as to how to make the little book....it certainly caused us a few giggles in getting me to understand how to get the folds right but I've got there in the end.  :-)

The other snap I'm sharing with your today is this one...

Next Tuesday Jo and I are booked into a workshop to 'make a bag' that a friend is starting to teach...we are being used as her guinea pigs!  :-)
We have cut out all the pieces of fabric ready for the day so just maybe next week this pile might look rather more like a bag...I love the colours of my fabric and am really looking forward to the day's fun.

    I think you got it right! LOL Love the ideas you have to make them travel books for the littlies, they will love them!
    Yum to your choice of fabric, will be looking forward to seeing the finished product.. and maybe getting a late night class in how to make one!! Annette

    I really LOVE how you made this. It is going to be a real favorite, especially when they are on road trips. This is super impressive. And I'd say Annette did a great job of 'splaning.

    I love the little books you are making. You really are a paper-crafter as well as a fine needle worker and the rest! Children love interactive books, and I am sure the twins will have lots of fun with these.

    Wow! These books are such a brilliant idea! You should market them, as I don't think such a good yet simple idea has yet seen the light of day! They will be so stimulating for their imaginations and I'm sure they will treasure them, as you made them by hand. Perfect. Love the look of the material too - gorgeous colours.     How fabulous to be creating these little books to share with your grandchildren. Your themes are perfect and I so love the cute animals you have for them.     Travel books for the littlies. Good idea. Saves the "are we nearly there yet" questions as soon as the engine is started!!

    Hi there! We only passed through Ludlow on our way up to Chirk and it wouldn't have been fair on my family to have called in...and anyway we are meeting up in twelve days time! And yes, I did get your email...and replied to it but it was via my husbands iPhone, so maybe it went adrift in the telephonic ether. I'm going to say no to your kind offer but may I suggest that you contact Rachel, or Karen (she has a white cat avatar) or even Crafty Gashead Zo.. I know that they are all actively doing charity stuff at the moment. Hope that helps!

    That's a wonderful idea Annie how clever of you. I have found the instructions (or destructions )for making the little book after seeing the one you posted .

    Love the book idea, and your rendition of it - great jungle animals. Just the thing for the grandchildren on a journey. Hope the bag making goes well - I'm sure it will.     those folds on the books do look rather complicated, but are probably very simple when you get to grips with them.

    those kits for your grands are adorable. as for your workdesk, Are you really a crafter? Its not cluttered enough to be in the middle of something . have to admire a clean workspace prior to completion is amazing . once I complete one its not too bad. however there is usually "after clean up" pic that follows. its way cleaner after that

    ooh nice Annoe, Pinterest pften shows 'quiet books' for journeys and down time, such a lovely idea...I really like the animals on strings idea. I'd be as nervous as a kitten havingyou take a sewing workshop!!

    Wow - so many cool things you are doing. Those books are so cool....I love the sample, but yours with the moveable animals is just perfect! It was something about the way you wrote that...so the little ones can make stories that just captured that image for me!! And what a good friend to be a guinea pig for the bag class...lots of fun things in your world!!

    fabby dabby books, and I have that paper trimmer too.

    Those sweets lasted nearly a whole week. My children are quiet good at rationing sweet treats and they only get eaten after meals.

    WOW Annie I so am loving your jungle book, it's really awesome and what a fantastic idea to make it a jungle. I can't wait to see what you do with the fabric lol. I am mega late this week, no real excuse really apart from I have been crafting, really enjoying getting painty, doing tutorials, and just creating full stop with no must do's it's really fun and I am still at it lol.
